Terms of Use

Last updated: 29 October 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and PeakBeen for using the PeakBeen app and this website. By creating an account or using the app, you accept them. We have tried to write them so they can be read: if anything is unclear, write to us.

Who we are

PeakBeen is made by Pol Salvia, in Spain. You can reach us at peak.been.official@gmail.com.

What PeakBeen is

PeakBeen lets you log the summits you have climbed, see them on a map and keep your numbers. Logging a summit is free, and it will stay free. Some extras, such as more map types, summit markers and some statistics, are part of Premium, an optional subscription.

Your account

To save your summits you need an account, which you create with Apple, with Google or with a code sent to your email. Keep that sign-in method safe: whoever has it can use your account. Children under 14 need permission from a parent or guardian to create an account.

You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Delete account and data. What that deletes is explained in the Privacy Policy.

Premium

Your summits are yours

What you log in PeakBeen (your summits, their dates, your wish list and your achievements) belongs to you. You let us store and process it only to run the app for you: to keep it in your account, show it on your map and work out your numbers. We don’t sell it and we don’t use it for advertising. When you share a card from the app, you decide where it goes.

If you report a problem with a peak, we use what you send us to correct our peak data.

Peak data, and safety in the mountains

The peaks, their names and elevations, and the maps come from OpenStreetMap and other open sources, listed on About the peak data. They are made by many people and can be incomplete or wrong. The peaks found on an imported route are an estimate.

PeakBeen is not a navigation or safety tool. Don’t use it to plan a route, find your way, or judge the weather, the terrain or the risk. Mountains are dangerous, and you are responsible for your own safety and for the decisions you take there.

Using PeakBeen fairly

Please don’t use PeakBeen to break the law, to get into other people’s accounts, to overload our servers or copy their data in bulk, or to harm the service or other people. Don’t copy, modify or reverse-engineer the app, except where the law allows it. If an account does any of this, we may suspend or close it, and we will tell you why when we can.

The app

The app, its design, its name and its logo belong to PeakBeen. If you got the app from the App Store, you use it under Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement, together with these terms. The data and maps inside it keep their own licences, listed on About the peak data.

Changes

We keep improving PeakBeen, so features can change. If a change takes away a significant part of Premium, we will tell you in the app beforehand, and you can cancel. If we ever stop offering PeakBeen, we will tell you in the app at least 30 days in advance.

We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top, and if the change is important we will tell you in the app before it applies.

Liability

We work to keep PeakBeen running and its data right, but we can’t promise that it will always be available or free of errors. Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have as a consumer under the law of your country, or our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or for wilful misconduct. Within those limits, we are not liable for indirect losses, or for what happens because you relied on PeakBeen’s data in the mountains.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by Spanish law. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live, and you can take a claim to the courts there. If something goes wrong, please write to us first: we would rather fix it.
